Dear Pupils, Parents, Carers and Colleagues

You will be aware that there still remains uncertainty over national plans to open schools to a wider number of pupils after the half-term break. Cidari Multi Academy Trust is working together as a family of Academies to plan how to do this safely for all of our pupils, staff, parents & carers and wider community.

At this stage, we have not committed to increasing pupil numbers on any specific date, but I can say categorically that arrangements will not change for the week commencing the 1st of June. Instead we will only open to more pupils when we have appropriate measures in place that provide you, your children and our colleagues with the confidence that our buildings are as safe as they practically can be and the risk is managed down as low as possible. Our decision making puts the health, safety & wellbeing of our pupils, colleagues & parents first and foremost..

Whilst discussions are still taking place nationally regarding the expectations of schools and the arrangements needed before any return, we will not at this stage be issuing any specific guidance as it is likely to change and be superseded within days (if not hours!).

I want to continue to reassure you all that as an Academy Trust we have many significant advantages and strengths, our strongest being our core values and a commitment to the wellbeing of our Cidari community. We have amazing professionals across all aspects of our organisation and we ask you to  trust that we are working tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare our Academies for the point at which more pupils can return. As we have said previously, we will be transparent in sharing all of the actions taken and any risk assessments we will put in place when they are ready. We are working very closely with our Trade Union and when we are all in agreement that we have everything in place required you will have all of the information you need to make an informed choice regarding your child’s attendance.

We will continue to keep you updated through our normal methods and share our planning and further information as we have it. Until then, we remain open for the children of key workers and vulnerable children as we have been for the past nine weeks.

Finally I would like to confirm that despite the national position of the Department for Education, all Cidari pupils eligible for Free School Meal vouchers will continue to receive them during the half term break without interruption. These are challenging times for many of you. We are here to help and support in any way we can.

Thank you for your continued support, your patience during these uncertain times and let me reassure you once again that the welfare of our school community is central to any decisions we make.
